My Grandfather Captain Stephen Polkinhorn worked for the Taku Tug & Lighter Co Ltd, lived in a house called Websters Folly, Taku.
I have 3 of Ivon A Donnelly's books. One 'The China Coast" is autographed by him.
Chinese Junks and other native craft, and a small red book Taku Tug & Lighter co Ltd, Tientsin.
Small world ! I think I have the Taku Tug and Lighter book also - I am not at home right now so can't check.
I have an original oil by Ivon A Donnelly which shows HMS Iron Duke and HMS Marlborough leading the First Battle Squadron to sea. In need of a bit of restoration - water damage by the look of it!
Hi Jellicoe - would be great if you could scan it or send me a digital photo so I can put it up on the blog.My e mail is abanham@simmonsco-intl.com
