A Donnelly Junk Model

 

This model of a Ningpo Trader is owned by Mark Perry whose mother visited China after she graduated in 1931.She met Ivon Donnelly who later sent her this model and a copy of his book which he inscribed " To Miss Braswell - I send you this book of "junks" as a little reminder of your trip to China's Tientsin in particular & with a hope we shall see you in the East again - if not perhaps elsewhere ! The junk model I am sending home for you is illustrated & described on page 75 - it is correct & accurate to an 1/8 " scale and will I hope prove interesting to those at home.
