I.A.Donnelly

Donnelly produced a book on junks entitled "Chinese Junks and other River Craft" This was one of the earliest if not the earliest books on junks written by a westerner. It contains a number of pen and ink illustrations as well as a number of colour plates of his own watercolours. This book was preceded by a small book of ink sketches of junks "Chinese Junks" published in 1920 whose popularity prompted the second book.He also illustrated a book by Cornell Plant "The Pilot" -- "Glimpses of the Yangtze Gorges".

In 1933 he published a guide to the Hai - Ho (Sea River) from Taku Bar to Tientsin (where my mother was born).
