Chinese Junks & Other Native Craft
http://e-asia.uoregon.edu/ebooks.htm
Ivon Donnelly my maternal grandfather lived in China in the early 1900s until the mid 40s. He was a shipping agent on the Yangtze and became an expert on Chinese Junks writing and illustrating a book on them.He was an accomplished artist and also built models of junks. I intend to post copies of the few examples of his work that I have and those that I have come across via the internet.I also will post photographs taken from my grandmothers album of scenes in China in the 1900s.

There is an interesting conversation on Donnelly which can be found on the Junk Rig Association website. This discussion is of a watercolour which appears to be a fake Marshall Johnson which looks to be a copy of Donnelly's "Foochow Deep Sea Fisher". It wpuld be interesting if you could add any comments to this conversation, including an answer to the question "who is SVM" (the writer of the preface to Donnelly's first edition of Chinese Junks and Other Native Craft.)
The conversation may be found at https://www.junkrigassociation.org/general_forum/8604194 or I can send you a copy if you wish. Any additional comments would be appreciated. graemekenyon@hotmail.com
