Donnelly and C.Y.Tung
Stephen Kentwell in his comment on the Yentai article pointed out that Donnelly partnered with C.Y.Tung as an advisor to launch Chinas first shipping company in Shanghai in 1941 ( China Shipping Trust Company ) of which Donnelly was made General Manager. It was re-established in Hong Kong in 1947 again with Donnelly as GM. Tung's company grew to be one of the largest shipping companies in the world. Tung and Donnelly remained friends until the latter's death in 1952 . Kentwell sent me the 2 pictures below , taken by Donnelly , of CSTC's first two ships .Wednesday, July 05, 2017

Junk Models in Rotterdam Museum
I was contacted via this blog by a representative of the Maritiem Museum in Rotterdam which has an ongoing project related to Chinese ship models. They acquired 4 junk models from my grandfather in the 1920s and kindly sent me the photographs below. They will be sending me copies of the related correspondence .Saturday, December 03, 2016
Two More Watercolours Acquired
Contacted by the family whose aunt had passed away . They found the two paintings in her possession and contacted me via this blog. They did not know how she came into their posession but evidently she travelled extensively and it seems likely that she met Donnelly when in China.
